An ability to review the Independents headlines and read many of them. That is generous and. Dry much appreciated. It lives on my first screen beside the FT.

Great source for local and world news, with no biased left- and/or right-wing twists. My number one!

The Independent is still free, which is getting rare, and very easy-to-use. So, I feel I ought not complain, but their imbedded ads are too easy to mistake for articles, and while ads are fine (and inevitable), helping "trick" readers into viewing an ad goes too far. It happened today to me and a first time users of the app wouldnt be able to distinguish between ads and content by their appearance alone. They ought to have a "sponsored content" tag, as they do on Instagram. Other than that, I think the Independent is among the best news apps out there.

Great journalism - just would like it to save my text size preferences, so I dont have to keep pressing that tiny button.

The new app is well designed and easy to use. There isnt much to say about it, as it works quite well. The content, on the other hand, has been getting progressively worse. A couple years ago, The Independent was probably the second most balanced, informative papers in the UK, behind the Times. Sadly, the papers editorial stance has creeped far too much into their choice of topics, framing of the facts, etc. Most of the content you see on the app is closer to editorial than to news, even if it purports to be the latter. The rest is vacuous commentary on celebrities or football.

Cancelled our physical delivery of the Washington post and discovered their app would give you zero free content. Discovered the Independent and I love the reporting. Keep up the good work.

Independent live is great resource because they cover a broad range of news both European and Middle Eastern coverage and provide constant updates.

Love it , still free to read the Independent , yes you get adds but that is a price I am willing to tolerate.

There is a definite partisan leaning to this site so their claim that they are an independent and nonpartisan news source is incorrect.

All the features a newspaper app usually boasts, with a welcome focus on off-line reading. Too bad the app is visually ugly. I would definitely pay for an advert-free version, à la Guardian.

Like the new look, really freshens up the app. Impossible to share via Twitter, however. No possibility to log in to Twitter and an error "impossible to verify your account". Why not just use the iPhones share via Twitter capability?

Takes ages to load, and then theres no front page. Shame, because the first (and only) time it worked, it looked really good.

Been reading older versions for years without any problems. Once the teething problems are sorted it should be good as now have access to puzzles and supplements......when they load
